Well I just got done porting a set of J heads for my 'low buck' stroker.
I went with 11/32 under cut valves, bronze guides, seats on int/ex and so forth.

here are the #'s
            INT----EX
.100     60        46.4
.200     132.8  93.3
.300     193.3  134.3
.400     241.     166
.500     270.     174
.600     sat        178.7

Notice how the int flow destroys eddelbroke heads and at a lower lift=earlier cyl filling=more power.

I have a solid engle .573 282* 110*

I had the center line changed for the compression ratio=9.8
However the motors gonna come back apart to deck it to all 4 corners, see after a even .002 was milled from the block, & it assembled, the piston to deck height was all over for instance=no.1 +.100  no.8 .080 etc  and on top of that the chamber depth 'shalow area' is only .080 so+.100  -.039-.080= only .019 piston to head clearance.

So long story short, I have to mill a lil of the domes and while I'm there I might do a lil more along with the heads to increase to maybe 10.8 or 11.1 if possible.
we'll see.....

Good job on the heads. That's enough flow for 550+ hp. With that cam and the comp. #'s you should have one heck of a small-block. I was thinking of doing the same thing with my J-heads. The stupid Edelbrocks are just too dang expensive and the Magnum swap is more trouble than what they're worth. How much porting did you have to do to get those kind of #'s?

A good amount of work, took over a week here and there with a lot of material removed
from the roof, especially above the hump to the short turn in order to straighten the roof out some and then transition it into the bowl.

I removed the guide kink and profiled it long and with the curve of the finished short turn while the short turn itself laid back to where it really starts [there is a defining line at it's peak]

Always point the base of the guide towards the middle of the port opening.

Air likes to go straight,  So when doing your short turn cut down the straight shot into the short turn/bowl where it contours to the wall only to the height of the rest of the peak and no more.
Also open the pinch as much as you can, plus blend it and thin out the wall between the ports[not too much in the bowl area cause of the head bolt]
And work and blend the turn in the wall past the push pinch between the guide as well.

Oh I almost forgot the exhaust, well I did there was pop the freeze plugs out of the end of the head so I could pinch with my finger to check for thickness and made the roof straight [cut the org guide guide out] and laid the short turn straight up from the seat while smoothing the top  and then slightly laid back the tallest portion and slightly rolled it out the exit which I gasket matched .

These are things I did to get the #'s I have and I did not polish anything.
Sorry If I do a poor job explaining it.

I would, but I live in NC. I'd get killed on the shipping charges. Fortunately I've got a friend who knows somebody in TN who is really good and is reasonable.
