I'm having my 440 stroked to 535 cubic inches, Has anybody else had a motor like this? How do you like the performance? Desk top dyno puts the motor at 620hp and 640 ft pounds of torque does sound about rite. any comments or info would be great.
Thanks

Built 727 trans, Dana 60 with 3.7 gears. I just want a torque monster for the street. Motor and car will be stock appearing. I might take the car to the drag strip once but thats it.
Thanks

To really unleash its potential I would put a taller gear in it 3.70 isnt enough. I put 4.56s in mine and then installed a gear vendors overdrive so that i could drive it on the steet. I havent driven it yet but my brother did the same and has a car that performs at the track and can be driven on the highway at 70 mph. ken BTW - do a search in readers rides on "koister" and take a look at my challenger. I went for the same thing you did. Lots of torque. Mine is a stroked 426 hemi. It is 528 cubic inches. Then i added that little thing on top to make sure i got the torque that i was looking for. If you do look please leave a comment and vote. Thanks

BTW - If you really want a fast but steetable car you might think about a supercharger. You can run a mild cam, 8:1 compression pistons and still have a beast. On top of which that 620 hp and 640 ft pounds of torque will turn into 800+ hp and 750+ lbs of torque. Withe a super charger you can control the boost with pulley ratios. I under drive mine and make about 10:1 compression and can run on pump gas. A switch of the pulleys and i am running 14.5:1 compression. Throw in the race gas and hold on. Just my two cents. ken

Ken, That's one bad-ass looking Challenger you got there. I like your idea about the blower but I'm trying to stay stealth. Having a blower sticking out of my hood kinda takes away from my "stock appearing" look. No doubt a blower would add a lot more HP but I think I'm going to have enough problems trying to hook up now with what I got!
Thanks 535GTX

Hey I understand. You get to a certain point when building these things and there is no turning back. Do think about the taller gear and the Gear Vendors overdrive. I can guarantee you wont be happy with the performance you get out of 3.73. ken

A 535 motor will make plenty of power. Which heads are you going to be using? If you go with standard port heads then I'd recommend something like the CNC ported Mopar 452 heads or the Edelbrock heads. Mancini Racing sells those packages and they work really well. If you go Max Wedge heads then either Indy EZ or SR heads should work for you. Either way, that motor is going to have killer torque.
