I have a 1968 Roadrunner with the 727 automatic.  The problem is the trans. is leaking fluid big time on a rebuilt trans.  I have replaced the pan and the pan gasket both but with no luck.  Someone told me that the front main seal could be the culprit because the vehicle has sat idle for some time now.  At this point the trans. is still in the vehicle so any pointers would be appreciated thanks.

hi, the front seal won't leak from just sitting. when a torqflite sits for a prolong period of time the convertor drains back to the pan raising the level in the tranny. chances are ether the filler tube or the lever seal is to blame

Thanks for the info. I will look at both of those areas and get the problem fixed, because I enjoy being able to drive the Roadrunner.
