I have a 1968 GTX that is getting a new paint job next month (TT1), and my question is, I want to paint the hood between the 440 emblems flat black. Was that an option in 68??

Just found out that you could get the hood painted black between the hood scoops on the 68 gtx as an option.  The option was called "performance hood package" I believe the code was Z8.

Some people are like Slinkys; they're not very useful, but fun to watch when pushed down the stairs.

Actually, I have the same question regarding my 68' 383 Roadrunner.  Would it be the same code?  Also...dumb question but is that code listed on the VIN?  I want to paint my hood stock, also, but I'm not sure if that area was supposed to be black or not.
