I have a 1965 Plymouth Valiant with a small block 408. It is an origional /6 car, with a /6 K-frame, and I am using schumacher adaptor motor mounts. Here's the question.....are ALL A-body V-8 k members the same? i.e. is the early a-body (narrow) V-8 k-member the same as the '67 & up (wide body) k-member. In a nut-shell,

Are all a-body V-8 K-frames the same?

Thanks,

-Dan

So if that's the case, will a LA 360 based block (408) fit on an early A-body K-member, since they have different mounts? Early K was specific to 273/318, or was is it the engine itself that mounts differently?

No what I meant was you can't directly bolt a 64' or early k member into a 67' up car.

The motors will drop in all yrs, with the early k member all you need are the correct brackets [ k's are the same no matter what motor with the early style, only bracket changed] unlike the 67' up you have to change k members or get shumacher mounts.

So all early A-body k-members are the same then, no difference between /6 or v-8. Yes or no?

All k-frames will be different from Slant Six to V-8 as it relates to engine mounting points.

All k-frames in A-Bodies from 1966 and prior are physically narrower than the later K-frames as it relates to attaching to the car body.

So, if you're converting to a V-8 from a Slant six, the K-frame should not need changed if using Schumacher mounts.

up to 66' the k-frames in a-body are the same and only need the factory motor brackets in order to change from v8 to 6-vise versa.
