I have a 97 dakota 3.9 here with a 42re trans the salvage yards tell me its a 1 year only is this true if so what are the diffrences with other 42re and could it be possibly swaped with other vehicles or maybe a 44re. secondly the trans worked fine till one morning it just quit if i throttle it up to say 2200 it will engage and go but not passed 1st and info would be greatly appreciated. i tore it down the bands and clutchs look fine
