I just purchased a 73 space duster, the head lights, brake lights and blinkers work but I have no tail lights or parking lamps. I can't remember if the brake light switch can cause this but the lack of parking lamps tells me it's prolly not the bls. Any of you guys have a suggestion or have run into this problem before?
Thanks!

You could try turning them on and measuring the voltage across the light. If the bulb isn't seeing any voltage, you'll know you have other problems.

Dumb question, but you did check the fuses, right? If NONE of your parking lights work, I would start at the light switch.

take a test light and see if you have power to them if not then i would trace the wiring down to see it its been cut or unplugged.

I have removed the headlight switch and I am not getting power to the brown wire coming out of the switch which I understand to be the tail light wire. I haven't been able to track down a wiring diagram yet.
Does anyone know if this is the correct wire for the tail lights? The wiring has all been cut and reconnected to matching wires but I need to know what I'm looking at before I can track down the problem.
Thanks

I replaced the switch. Someone has installed a toggle switch jumping the tailights (i found it buried under the dash) the tail lights come on and the dash lights come on when you flip the toggle, but it's hot all the time i.e. key or light switch doesn't have to be on to turn on tail/dash lights with the toggle. With the new switch there is still no fire to the tail light "out" portion of the switch even though there is fire going into the switch and the headlights work as they should.

Wow sounds like a get away car.lol Your gonna have to get the wiring unhooked from the constant hot and route it back into the lighting circuit. Get a wiring diagram.

Sounds like you need a wiring diagram to get the switch connected/wired properly since someone cut wires.

I had the same problem on a Charger. I had to take the steering wheel off and repair/clean the turn singal switch to get them to work.
