Anybody know of a DECENT way to lower the front of an '84 Dodge P.U. 2 or 3 inches? Don't want cut coils or 1 ton lower control arms or a fat lady on the hood or any of that B.S.[Bump Stop] Must maintain travel and geometry. I'm about ready to to torch the whole thing off and start from scratch. Anybody know of a spindle swap or other solution? Gonna narrow and drop the rear to tuck my 30-13.5-15 E.T. Streets. Need to set the front ride height first,to give the truck the proper stance when setting up the rear. Been looking at it off and on for a couple of years, but have found nothing so far, short of a new front clip. Even thought about moving the crossmember and upper control arm mounts up in the frame 2.5 inches, and swapping in rack and pinion steering, but there's no room for steering column with headers and oil pump in the way. Case of cold ones for a decent solution.[No fat ladies etc.]

If a suspension company like Hotchkis doesn't offer anything like that to help you lower it, I am not sure who will. If you need to completely re-design the front end, check with someone like Chris Alston.
Sometimes you just gotta say...

Why do you want to lower it, for looks or for performance? For just drag racing I'd leave it at the stock ride settings. A high center of gravity will help transfer the weight to the back on launch. If you do lower it you open a big can of worms getting the steering and handling correct. Just my $.02. Dave

Update. Gonna use '90 Dakota 2" drop spindles. Will have to ream the tie rod hole to accept the D150 tie rod ends in the stock position,as the Dak is smaller and mounts with the nut on top. The 150 mounts with the nut on bottom. This will keep the tie rod angles level. The steering arm is shorter from C/L to tie rod hole, will result in a little quicker ratio. As to why,the truck is a wallowing pig when it gets out of shape. The high CG and no sway bar coupled with the clunky manual box can cause a pretty good pucker factor. Gonna see what it feels like with the quicker ratio,if it still sucks will look into A Dak rack and pinion a little closer. The truck launches hard enough to kink the stock rear springs, with 1.60ish 60' times on ET Street 30-13.5s. hence the new rear suspension. Should pick up some on the 60'when things are solid. Have an A-body 8 3/4 which is 7" narrower than the pickup 8 3/4 under it now. Will pull the sidewalls inside the fender lip about 7/8". Just right. [Plus it won't look so retarded]
