Hi my name is Cory Barney and I have what I believe to be a 1969 Formula S Barracuda Fastback and its beautiful I love it its a 3 speed auto floor shifter with consol seats and it has a nice consol inbetween the seats with a fake wood trim But it has a 318 engin in it Do they make that car oringinaly? From what i can tell its not the oringnal engin cause all my research shows they dident make the Formula S with the 318 if you know any iformation please respond thank you.

What's the VIN number? Start by decoding your VIN. If the second letter is an H, P or S, it could be a Formula S. It depends on what the 5th digit is? If it's a G (383) or a P(340), it's quite possibly a Formula S. It was a package that you ordered, so without the broadcast sheet, it's guesswork! Remember, that even if you have a BH29P, it may not have been a Formula S car. It has to have the front sway-bar package, and the chrome detailed interior, heavy duty torsion bars, 6 leaf rear springs, 14x5.5 rims, firm ride shocks, 6000 RPM tach, 150 MPH Speedometer. Due to the fact that most stuff may have been changed along the way, any signs of any of these items would signify a Formula S. Start with the VIN and the Body VIN inside the driver's side inner fender. These will tell the story of what it once was! Cheers, Erik

I think the A53 on the fender tag designates it to be a Formula S, as does mine. Also, I don't know that all Formula S came with a 150 speedometer.
