I'm workin on a 416 stroker (I'm sure you all know this by now) and I can't afford to buy all the parts at once. I was thinking about getting the intake and carb first, that way I can drive the car until I get enough saved up to buy the rest of the parts and have the block done. The intake I'm looking at is the Edelbrock Performer RPM dual-plane and the carb is a Holley 750. Will this setup work with the stock heads and cam? It's a 73 340 with 360 heads. I don't know the cam specs. Also, is this intake good for the stroker that I'm talking about? Obviously I don't want to buy parts twice. The RPM range is gonna be 2800/3200 to 68/7200. Thanks for the help. Heres my post about RPM/cams if you want the reference. I think I'm prolly gonna go with the cam that drmopar is talking about.

Good pick on the cam, as far as an intake I would suggest it will matter more on what heads you are running. e.g. ported and polished factory heads flowing 240cc on the intake side would benifit little from a single plane intake. Why, because the RPM dual plane flows 275cc without porting the intake. Therefore the RPM air-gap would fit the bill nicely. However if your going for all out power with a set of Ported and Polished aluminum heads then a single plane would give you some benifits above 5000 rpm. Which single plane? good question, they range all over the place with different power bands, a Victor has power in the 3500-8500rpm range, to me this is over kill especially for a street/strip car. The air-gap is good from 1500-6500 closer to your power curve with the cam you are picking and the RPM will flow plenty for your stroker motor giving excellent throttle response from the moment you touch the throttle.

Thanks drmopar! You should just give your number so I can call you direct! j/k. I meant to put on the first post that it is the air gap that I'm looking at. I just forgot to put it.
The stock heads are only gonna be temporary, I want to get the edelbrock performer RPM heads, although a friend was saying Dart makes similar heads for a couple hundred dollars cheaper. I'm gonna look into it. Thanks again for the help.
