360 question

i found a 360 for sale from a dodge b200 van...is it possible to take the 360 and thow it into my 73 scamp to replace the 318...i have edelbrock perfoemer kit with carb intake and cam i can put on it...is it doable>

100% Yes, you did not mention the yr. of the 360.
Order the motor mounts you will need from Schumacker motor mounts. They will have a pair of bolt in mounts for this swap.
A strong 360 will make 400-450hp., without braking the bank.

the seller said the oil pan would have to be changed, and id take off the intake manifold, exhaust manifiolds, carb and cam shaft of my 318

yes you will have to find an oil pan off a 360 car. the edelbrock package will work great with the 360. the motor mounts off the 318 will fit the 360. don't use the 318 exhuast manifolds they are to restrictive for the 360.

so i should get some 360 exhaust manifolds...i'm guessing the scamp came with a 727 trans???what would the rear end gears be>

Your 318 probally has a 904.
A 904 is a good Trans. For a mild hop up 360 it is enough. A 904 is lighter for on thing .

ok so its a 904...is the 727 for a heavier car like a van? What gear would i have in the stock scamp

the right side off the 18 will work but you will need to space the left or get one for a 340/360. but you should be able to shim it.(the 18s) 360s have their own oil pans so you have to find a 360 pan with the same sump hope this helps
p.s. the 904 has better gearing than the 727 for racing and about 40 lbs lighter
