I have a 1970 Duster H-code.The guy that sold it to me,had a pistol-grip shifter in a box.He said,this was the stock shifter.My question is.Did they put pistol-grips in Dusters in 1970?

I don`t know what the h code is, but I doubt very much they put a pistol grip in any A body. just B`s and E`s. but who`s to say you can`t put one in. I put one in my A body.

H-code means in the vin # the letter H is 340.I do want to put the pistol-grip in.What did you use for a shifter boot that will look good?
Everything I find for A-body has a round shifter hole.

my senerio, was a conversion. since your boot`s already in, maybe, you can just superglue, and clamptight to the rectangular shifter, without gaps. dry fit it,see what it looks like. if that does`nt suite you,a hurst superboot may cover? but I think it might hangover. you can try different boots, just dont butcher up the packageing, and you may be able to return it.

No pistol grips came from the factory in A bodies ever. A B body bench seat shifter will fit though.

Yea,, that`s what I`ve been hearing for years, so I finally bought one. I have a 67 cuda coupe, bench seat, hurst comp. plus. It set too low, hitting the seat. I had to weld the lower portion of an old hurst shifter, to get the height needed. It`s under the boot out of sight. You think seats were higher in 67?
