I'm looking for someone impartial to tell me what the selling cost of a 1964 - 426 Max Wedge could be. I have this original motor that does not have a carburetor or intake, but some have told me this motor could sell for upwards of $5000. Can anyone help me find the true value of this or know where to look?

Almost impossible to say without seeing it and knowing more about the engine. Is it stock bore, how long has it been sitting, has it ever been rebuilt, does it turn over? One of the nice features of this car is missing the intake and carbs, so this will bring the value down.

Does it have 4 valve cover bolts, and what casting # are the heads, and last has it ever been rebuilt?

I had someone look at the motor and it has correct numbers, standard bore, rods and mains and is a new rebuild, but never fired.

never fired, it would have to be torn down and gone through unless you have a receipt from a reputable rebuilder who will warranty it. Without a warranty $2000/$2500 would be a good price without the intake and carbs.
