hey guys..ok so i want to get some new heads for my 318...i think its from a 75 diplomat..,from what im told.

I was thinking the eddy rpm heads, good choice? Im not sure what compression a stock 318 has

right now i'm running performer intake carb and cam....im going to upgrade the cam to propbably eddy rpm....should i upgrade the intake to rpm as well?

have a 2500 stall goin in with 2.5 inch american thunder exhaust with super 44's

i read up that 3 weak point in the LA 318 was compresion, heads, and pistons...if i'm doing all this work should i dump 250 bucks on new pistons for betetr compresion? what would you guys recommend

keep in mind i'm a rookie and am learning about engines and parts..i just got the 73 scamp 2 years ago anbd finaly makin some money to invest into it...thanks alot guys

Not having all the facts makes it difficult to give good input, but my thoughts are if you're going with the RPM heads and cam, I would think you'd want to also move up to the RPM intake manifold, that is unless you plan to use a spread bore carb. such as a Thermoquad. I mention that because I believe the RPM intake is a square bore intake.
And with the head, intake, and carb upgrades you should be thinking about the condition of the other engine components.
You mention new pistons but to do that right you're looking at boring the cylinders, reconditioning the rods, turning the crankshaft, balancing, new bearings, etc.
Lots to think about.
Is there a good machine shop in your town/city? If so you may want to stop by and have a talk with them to get their opinion.
