How high an rpm do you plan on turning the engine? If you are only planning this as a driver, buying just a good aftermarket coil like that from Mancini Racing, should be sufficient.

Sometimes you just gotta say...

if hes running the chrome box he definitely needs the juice. the msd and other round coils put out around 45000volts, the big, ugly accel coil puts out over 50000 and I think they make another that puts out 55000,if its a daily driver you need to switch back to the orange box,as the chrome box is for higher rpm cars, borderline street race type cars while the orange is for around 6500 rpms,I would still run the ugly fender mount accell personally because ive used before and they work very well with the mp m.p distributor with fast curve

Accel sells a round super stock coil for electronic ign. vehicles, it is chrome or yellow and works very well.

Yea that super stock lasted a long time on my 6.  In fact I ran it for 180,000mi and took it off when I sold the car 5yrs ago ...man that was a great car.

Another good one would be the blaster 2 IMO.

driving on the street with the chrome box moparperf. says not for extended use under 3500 rpm. a small round coil will overheat and quit, 1/2hour cooldown and it runs again, keep the revs up ! been there U need a large coil full of oil mopar recomends the large yellow Accel supercoil. I dumped that '70s technology and run an Accel 300 digital box and finned coil, starts better and runs crisper !
