looking for suggestions on HP boost for 440 (barra)cuda...

I bought a barracuda that had a recent upgrade to 440 rebuilt motor.  I'm *still* waiting for the paperwork on the rebuild but I'm pretty sure it is stock crank, cam, etc.  I've got stock intake w/650 carter afb on it, stock headers, etc. 727 auto tranny, 8 3/4 posi rear end. power steering.  Pretty much I'll only do street driving but not a daily driver, maybe once and a while at a track.

I'm looking for suggestions on boosting power and improving handling of this beast. (without spending a fortune)
Carb bump up and new intake? ...w/cam?  suggestions?

headers...any advice on which mfg and size that folks have had good luck with?

should I put sway bars on it, upgrade the torsion bars, beef up the leaf springs... like the real cuda is?

Just looking for ideas to make this this thing more kick ass than what it is today.  Looking to just have some fun messing around here with my new hobby.
thx for any suggestions you folks have to offer.

Depending on the gear you have a nice 484/284 hydraulic works well in this motor, along with a 750 double pumper, edelbrock performer intake and headman 1 3/4 headers are all great pieces for a street strip combo.
If you go this route you will need at least a 3000 stall converter to help get the car off the line.

Hey dr and mopar friends,

Have a couple of questoins on this.  My rear end is 3.23 ratio and I'm not looking to really change it.  Realistically I'll never see a strip with this one but want to have rock solid top end performance for the street.  I've read a lot about cams and found a good book by David Vizard on building horsepower where he sets a boundary for street at about 270 seat to seat and no more than .500 lift.  I don't even expect that with an auto tranny I'm going to see over 5000 rpm ever so I'd look to keep my stall at the stock of where it is but want the best low end torque/hp combo that I can muster with an upgraded cam.  I cannot get through mopar performance website to see spec sheets on MP cams but I think they've got one with a 268 intake seat to seat timing setup.  Other folks have recommended comp cams to check out as well.  Any updated thoughts with the new data I've provided?
As always, thanks to all for your suggestions

I think the perfect cam for your set up would be the mopar 474 lift, it is 238 duration at .050 giving you an excellent all around cam design for your big block.

And put in 4* advance.
Or 1.6 rocker on what you have now at the least.
