Hi, I am in the process of putting together my 360. Just got the block back from the shop, and I didn't realize that the block was a Magnum block. I already bought heads and a came for an LA block. I am wondering if it is possible to us this cam and these heads on the magnum block, or not. I know there are issues with oiling, and valve angle but I am not sure what those issues are and if there are ways around them or not. Thanks Joe

I am under the impression you can run a solid cam and the LA heads on the Magnum Block, however you should Call 1-888-538-HEMI. This is the Mopar help line, they can tell you exactly what is needed to make this combination work. Let us know, I will be looking for a spare 360 block and need to know if this combo works since I have a ton of money in my LA heads.

YES, if you first drill oiling holes through the already existing bosses in/on the block to feed the heads oiling to the rockers.

Or you could use the Magnum type oil thru push rods.

the only thing that comes to mind is the cam on the magnums the nose of the cam (where the timing gear bolts on) is shorter due to the fact the have no fuel pump ecentric as for all the vehicles they cam in where electric pumps... let us all know what turns out

Oil through push rods DON'T bring oil to shaft mount rockers they would only oil pedestal rockers Via drip down ect, because shaft mount rockers get oil from the head in order to fill the shaft=oil the rockers.
SO DRILL THE BOSSES!

I just got off the phone with the mopar helpline, according to them all that is needed to be done is to drill and oil passage threw the #4cam bearing, and to use the LA style cam bearings.

Yea they just pick up the bible and parrot off what they read which turned out to be drilling the bosses into the #4 cam bore and it's obvious where they are [on the valley side of the cylinders popping out saying hi, hi chevy *** 'drill here'! Your welcome.

Well the fix that sounded so easy turns out not to be. Talked to several machine shops in the area, including the resident mopar expert. NO ONE WANTS TO TOUCH THE BLOCK. I guess that a special drill bit to drill out the boss, and it is precise measurement for the drill depth.
