Mopar fans:
Have you seen the new Chrysler "Firepower" (You can do a search to see what it looks like) introduced at Detroit Auto show last week. I think it's pretty cool, but CHryslers' bean counters have it wrong once again.  They plan to introduce it as a $50,000+ car to dual "head to head" withn the Corvette (I thought that's what a Viper was for). So here we are onnce again...The 2005 Charger is nothing more than a "Sport Fury" and they are going to sell the Firepower in the range of $ 50-60,000 to compete with the Vette.
I think the Firepower should be renamed "Hemi-Cuda" and downgraded to a price range of $30,000 to compete head to head with the Mustang crowd. In all honesty, do you think they are going to sell many "Firepowers" if they keep the current price structure and nameplate???
We need to unite and express our opinions to Chrysler corp at their web site (They have a question/comment section). They do listen to people, especially  if enough express the same opinion,
here are the instructions:
1) Go to following Link: Chrysler.com
2) Go to bottom right side of page and click: (contact us)
3) Scroll to bottom of page and clickI need customer Assistance) "They allow you to voice concerns about products here".
4) Click (send us and e-mail)

Good luck,
Mike

P.S.  I HAVE DONE MY PART AND WRITTEN THEM WITH MY OPINION AND YES, I TOLD CHRYSLER THAT THE NEW MUSTANG IS QUITE TEMPTING TO BUY DESPITE THE FACT THAT I HAVE ONLY OWNED MOPARS.

Man this is so blah blah blah nothing will change. Daimler is all about the bling yeah pretty negative coming from me but I'm calling as I see it.

They have no intentions of building a 2 door performance car at a affordable price. The way I see it they only want the rich to enjoy true performance cars just like they do it in Europe.

Just something to kick around go ahead and flame away its my opinion. I do however hope I'm wrong.

Desert Duster:
The way I see it, you'll never know until you try.... They do listen to customers about the cars they produce, that's why they are ahead of the game each year with their mini-van's, trucks, etc. I even hear they are coming out with a NASCAR Special edition Charger in the Summer (They have received many negatives about the current Charger and are going top make changes).
If you don't like Chrysler, then buy the cool new Mach 1 Mustang, hit them where it count's the pocket book.
Chrysler has alway had incredible engineering and concept cars, they just need to get a better marketing dept.

I see nothing wrong with the Charger. It replaced the Intrepid as our full size family car. It is a better choice than anything else in it's class. Not to mention it out performs the Chargers of the 60's stock vs stock hands down. For everyone who hates the Charger there is someone who likes it for what it is. Chrysler already has a performance car, it is the Crossfire SRT and the 300 SRT. So if you hate the Charger so much wait and buy a Challenger.

hey i like them all,A, B, C, E, F . i just wish chrysler had not used the charger name on a four door car. and by the way the sport fury was never a four door car and should not be a name thown around to be compared to the so called charger!

HEY HEY NOW NO BASHING OF ANY OF MA MOPARS CHILDREN! IF YOU WANT TO BASH SOMETHING BASH GENERAL MISTAKE, I MEAN MOTORS.  AS FAR AS I AM CONCERENED ANYTHING WITH A PENTASTAR SOMEWHERE ON IT IS OK BY ME, FROM ALTERED 65'S TO THE COLT IT DOESNT MATTER THEY ARE STIIL BETTER THAN CHEVY!!!!! IF YOU WANT TO TALK HEAD HERES A SUGGESTION.  SELL ALL YOUR MOPARS.  BUY A 1970'S NOVA. PUT IN A WARMED OVER 350, SOME FLOWMASTERS, CRAGER RIMS AND SOME LOW PRO RUBBER AND DONT FORGET THE MACCO PAINT JOB! NOW YOU CAN CRUISE IT DOWN TO STARBUCKS AND SIT AROUND WITH THE CHEVY LOSERS AND THEIR GENERIC RIDES AND WONDER WHY YOUR ALWAYS STARING AT THE BACK BUMPER OF A MOPAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MOPAR OR NO CAR!

I dont mind the fact they named it charger. I just kinda wished they wouldnt' of put the extra doors on it.I can still live with it though. As far as competing with the ultra mopars of the sixtys' ya gotta be joking? How many of you think a hemi charger of today could spank a 68 hemi charger of yester year ? I would say naaaaa I dont think so. Maybee handeling some corners, but strait line it doesnt stand a chance. I do admire chrysler corp. for marketing the new charger, to the whole public such as police vehicles etc. I think this sort of marketing will put them ahead of the the other guys that are loosing their arses in a economy thats not lookin so great.

Considering this post started out about a possible Hemi Cuda being built I thought I would add the following.    When you subract the hype of yester years hemis and realize they weren't as fast as we were all led to believe you might have a different opinion.
Fact, a 1970 426 hemi Cuda ran 13.10 at 107 mph.
Fact, a 2008 6.1 litre hemi runs 13.20's at 107 mph.
Considering the new Challenger's Hemi is 50/60 cu. inchs less, I think it is a quit a performer. Plus it gets double/triple the fuel economy and is fully loaded including air, unlike the hemi cars of old.

I don't think they can make another cuda can they? after all. There is no more plymouth division. I like the new hemi but you can't compare it to a real hemi. Drive one then the other. A real hemi will make you smile. A new one feels like driving any other new car. Operates way to smooth for me. I like to feel the car when I am driving.
