Also there are plenty of new parts avail for T.Q. carbs: rebuild kits for all Competition Series, kits for one year only '71 340 carbs, kits for all oem '72-'84 carbs and the SuperQuad carbs, new floats in both nytrophyl and brass, new primary/2ndary jets, new #1966 metering rods too.
Advantages:lighter weight, phenolic bowl to keep the fuel cooler=more power, and the carbs keep gaining in value due to many performance models and the need for correct carb for correct appearance and performance.
Just like any other old 4bbl carb, it will have to be a complete and re-buildable core.
These carbs have gained in popularity in recent years for the fact that they are a great factory oem carb.

Kinda reminds me of the 3 pairs of 340 exhaust manifolds sitting on my shelf. Great factory pieces and gaining lots of value for the period/appearance correct crowd but don't hold a candle to headers.
Yes, they are a great oem carb especially for the smog era!
I am still glad to hear that more parts are being made available for the guy's that have to use them.

I'll take any thermoquad you want to dump in the garbage can. I've got 2 modified 850 thermoquads on my Weiand tunnelram sitting on top of my 528 hemi. Not only are they VERY responsive, they've given me my best fuel economy so far. Last trip to car show highway/city combination, 13.18mpg driving it 'nice', 60-65mph, and the standard stop-n-go stuff in town. It also made it's first trip to te drag strip with the 528 sporting the set of thermoquads. There certainly were no bogs, backfires, or sags. I did find out the truck needed adjustable shocks, more slick, and more converter, as it porpoised, spun, and slid it's way for 1320 feet. It ran a 11.26 like that so some suspension tuning will drop it solidly into the 10's with the 'junk carbs'. Dave

Spoke like a true retard;
Rummy does your diaper need changing? Your mirror breaks. But thanks for the thermo info for I though you were just gonna f more threads up as usual.
Here is a perfect example of someone screwing up a thread with childish insults and blank shots of baseless charges.
I'm so glad your helping with the thread again Justastain.

Nice, almost everypost I view I can find Justin with his foul mouth running. P.S. The thermoquad is an awesome carb and if you can find one with a good body I would rebuild it. Ran one on a stock 340 ran great, and got good gas mileage as well.

Since I figured you'd be running around racing to still talk bs I'll let this one slide. If anyone has a problem with members of/or this site send a private message and lets try and clean up the posts.

Forget the private messages Mr. 4 speedo, it is you who needs to clean up your posts and everyone should know how you continually trash anyone, and everyone you can. I suspect this is why you have been banned from at least one other site in the past.
