First, is it sand blasting or bead blasting? I would think bead because it seems like sand blasting would be too harsh.
Second, the reason I'm posting this is because I read an article about bodywork. They said they thought there wasn't much rust, until the blasted it. They found there was a ton of rust and had to make extensive repairs. Well, I can't afford extensive repairs. Is it a bad idea to blast the body before I paint if I can't afford the body work to fix it properly? What should I do? I'm gonna do the frame since it obviously needs to be strong as possible.

Have it soda blasted. It wont harm the sheet metal like sand or beads will.

Ok, thanks. I'm just worried its gonna be filled with rust and I'll have to shell out a lot of money to fix the metal.
