Hello Everyone. First Off I would like to thank everyone that has answered my questions. Thank you so much. I have a question now about MSD igition systems. I am rebulding a 318 and want to put an MSD ignition in it instead of the old point system. I wanted to know if someon could please tell me what all I would need to do this. Do i need anew distributer or coil or both or what. I appreciate any help. Thanks  

You do not have to change anything other than add the MSD however I would recommend a electronic ign dist. I picked mine up from the wrecking yard for $20.00.
I would also recommend the MSD 6AL this unit has a built in rev. limiter, if you are trying to save a couple of bucks Summit has a similar ign. system under their own brand name for about half the money.  

drmopar is correct omondo again i also did the same thing. and i also have 3 6als here in great working order for sale if anyone needs one i bought them all at an auction all tested and worked  

I would use their coil with their box. JMO
And like the dr. said you can get a factory electronic distributor for peanuts at the junk yard.
If you go MSD's site they have all the instructions on how to hook it up.
