I have a 273/904, with Offenhauser intake, spitfire headers, BeCool aluminum w/Derale 17"/2400 CFM fan, 160 deg thermistat. I still overheat. My thoughts are to spin the water pump faster and install a trans cooler. Any ideas?

start with the trans. cooler and see were your at.

I went back to my BeCool 2360 cfm fan and replaced the thermistat with a restrictor plate. Problem solved.
