I am putting an 8 3/4 rearend in my 1965 Barracuda. Can you put the Timkin bearings on After market axles or do I need to get stock axles and have them cut to A body length? I do not want to use Green bearings as this car will be run on roadrace courses.
Thanks
Gary
Forgot to add, have the a-body 8 3/4 axle housing and 2 pumpkins one for road and one for course. What I do not have a this point is axles and brake setup for rear. Trying to determine which axles will work with timkin type bearings.

Why can't you use the green bearings, certainly it isn't because their not adjustable?

because this is a car that will be developing a lot of side thrust on twists and turns. Everything I have read says to stay away from the Green bearings for high thrust loads for road type courses.
Thanks Gary

Well I guess I don't need to know anymore, just bought a set of Stock axles for an E-body on ebay for $25. Will send them to Moser and have them resplined. Then put the Taper type bearings on. Thanks for the replys.
