I am buying a 1969 Dart Custom with a 273 to use as a parts car in Southern California. I'll be using it as a donor for my 1968 Plymouth Barracuda slant 6. Before I part out the Dart I want to make sure I am not destroying a car that holds greater value to me restored. It is a complete restoration project that has been sitting for 10+ years, but it does have some things I can use. How can I make sure I am not killing something special? The Vin indicates LA production Dart Custom. Anyone know something better than a VIN decoder? Thanks!

the barracuda is a run of the mill slnt 6 car and unless your turning it into a S.S HEMI race car the 69' dart custom[trim option] real V8 car, IMO , is worth more. Don't get me wrong the cuda is a cool car, but v8 is v8.

Sorry, a Barracuda with the same equipment is worth every bit as much as a Dart Custom, which by the was was one of the bottom of the line Darts, the only thing lower would be a 4 dr. custom with the slant six. Install the K frame and the entire drive line from the Dart, and enjoy your Barracuda. The Barracuda name is worth gold and will more than make up the value of an original dart custom. Besides when was the last time we saw a real original anything other than a museum.
