I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 truck with the turbo diesel engine and auto trans. Lately when I step on the gas nothing happens at first and then several seconds later it will take off like normal. Could this be a problem with the turbo, the computer or what? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is your p/up stock or does it have any mods done to it? The fuel pump on theese 24valve cummins arent what they should be.Maybee check your fuel pressure with a gauge and make sure you got decent pressure. It could be one of many problems lift pump, injectors etc.I run a fuel addative in mine all year round. It tends to quiet injectors and upps the cetone value.(octane level)Dont let the lift pump go totally gunny bag or you could be replacing the injector pump as well.1200 bucks.I baught a air dog lift pump and Am really happy with its performance. How often do you change fuel filters? Some of my friends change theirs every oil change.I thought that to be a lil extreme. But it seems their is a real problem with factory type lift pumps.Air dog is a great pump and is warranteed for life.550 bucks though, but good up to 700 horses.Really isnt much after ya add up every thing.Cold air,big pipe exhaust, injectors.Hell an edge with attatude is 120 horse by its self.Anyway check your fuel delivery.Good luck.
