Were there different size backing plates used on the Dana 60 and 8 3/4 rearends?  Did some of them have different size axle tubes? I am in the process of putting together a basket case car that had a Dana 60 in it. The backing plates that were in the car do not fit the axle flange on the rear end I have. The center hole on the backing plate is 3 7/8" wide. Diagonally across the mounting holes for the backing plate it is 4 7/8" center to center. The numbers on the back of the plates are: Bendix 329413 R and Bendix 329412 L. Can anyone tell me what the backing plates might be for?
