couple of questions come to mind ; is the alternator charging ok and second is the alternator the right amperage. There are also 2 styles of mopar alternators the old and new.i would make sure the right style is installed. If it is the origainal alternator i would say it is not working properly or it might be something as simple as a loose belt.If extra electrical componants have been added ie big stereo the amperage might not be eough to hold.these are things i have run into with my experience.

Check connections on amp meter. Clean them and put star washers above and below terminal. Don

put a volt meter on the battery as see what the reading is when the car is running, if it is low with the lights on or fluctuating it will likely need an alt. You will have to have it tested with a amp load gauge at a local shop to determine its condition. If your trying to do this cheap, buy a spare volt. reg. and throw it on. It is possible your reg. has a problem. Be sure to clean the surface were the reg. is bolted to, this is how the reg. is grounded.
