My old 79 Dodge Maxi 1 ton is getting a remanufactured 360 ci /5.9L, The engine arrived at my bosses' shop today and it will be installed very slowly. So, if anyone has any tips, let me know cuz I need them, but what kind of horse power does the basically stock bebuild produce?
Thanks

Without knowing specifics like compression, cam, etc. It's hard to judge. I'd say a stock 360 rebuild would be in the 280hp range.

you should have been provided some kind of specs on yor rebuilt engine specifically a build sheet. some kind of papework laying out for you all the work that was done including any machining/hot tanking/magnaflux ect.. a list of new parts installed, specs on new installed components. my advice would be to make sure your new components match. specifically b/w the induction, crank and cam. a build sheet will tell you everything that was done. if you did not get a build sheet, you were done a disservice. as for the hp i have a '97 ram 1500 w/360 magnum and the factory hp output is 235. not sure on torque. or at what rpm highest hp and torque are reached. a dynomometer will tell you your actual output.
