i am in the process of changing my 87 ram that was converted over to tbi,back to carb,and im replacing the 318 tbi,with a 1978 360/w4 bblcarb,,the 727 3sp non o/d,trans is out of a 89 or 90 model,my question is,,can i use the same torque converter,,, [lock up],,,or any suggestions on what to use,funds are limited,,360 cid bored 30, w/edel,600cfm,,4bbl carb,comp cam and lifters,double roller chain,alum intake,etc,,

No you cannot use a lock up converter in a non lockup transmission. If funds are limted I suggest you go to your local trans shop and see if they have an old one kicking around. Better yet have them order a rebuilt non lock up 11" unit. Most 11" units were dual purpose, performance, and you could still tow with them.
