Hey i got a 65 dodge coronet with a stock 318 2 barrel, my stock temp gauge and oil pressure gauges dont work. i want to know what they are when im driving, so im putting in auxilary gauges. what is an ideal water temp? and what should i be looking for good oil pressure. what are some good gauges that wont leak and work good, let me know what you guys think, thanks

stewart warner is a good gauge, and there`s alot others.190~195 deg. water temp. buy a model specific chilton if available. or factory repair manual repro.  Info. is one of your best investments.  

A factory 318 should have between 45 and 65 psi of oil pressure at cruising rpm. It will likely drop at idle but as long as it has 20 or so psi its ok.

As far as temp, I believe the factory installed a 180 degree thermostat, so I'd shoot for that temp under normal conditions. Of course idling in the heat, etc. will cause it to get warmer, as long as it stays below 200 i wouldn't worry about it too much.
