Fender Tag Questions

Just acquired a 1969 Roadrunner, and the paint code on the fender tag is 99 99 which is NOT on the code list options.  What is this, as I am new to Mopar?
Also on this fender tag is the option Y39, which I understand is a Special Order.  Does this have anything to do with the 99 99 paint code?

I took the back seats out and on the back support rail is printed in black "S P GREEN 11". The 11 seems not to be the number 11, but simply two vertical lines, each representing the number 1.  The printing was done by hand with a magic marker type pen.  Is this related to the 99 99 color code possibly, as the original color on the floorpan under the seats is a "John Deere" bright green.
Lastly, after I cleaned the decades old rats nest out of the back seats, I found a two inch square piece of what I believe is the build sheet.  It is the corner of the bottom right hand side, and it says "Vehicle Delivery and Handling Y", and lists Special Order 39, N/Car Service 8, and Show Car Finish 9.  At the very bottom of this small triangle of paper that survives is the Invoice number or Build Sheet number, EO96465.  Is this the build sheet order number?  If it is, is it traceable in some mopar archives as to what the color of this car actually was? Where would I go to find out, and who is the mopar guru that would know?  Whew, hope you don't cancel my new membership with all this!  Thank you very much fella's! Mopar's are fun, but perplexing!  Chris

Hi my name is John Piscitelli and I have a 1969 dodge charger with the same codes. It has been driving me crazy trying to track down this code. Today I googled 69 charger rt 99 99 paint code and on the one option that showed up was all these pictures of all the colors that came on the car. One of the paint colors was called a bright green and the code was a 99 99 special order green. If you cant find the pics let me know and I will send you the HTTP site. Thanks hope this helps.

Hello there, when i was in the usa in august i picked up the september mopar collectors guide and was reading about the exact same thing,i pulled out the issue and read it an found out that the 99 99 means non standard paint,it meant you could choose any color from any manifacturer like gm or ford and have your new mopar painted as desired.According to the editor your going to have a hard time finding out the original color, the car on this issue was also a 1969 roadrunner with same markings..good luck from australia....

Hello John!  It was nice to see a reply to my series of questions on the 69 RR I purchased.  I appreciate very much your taking the time to respond, as this has been on the forum for some time now without much reply.  This tells me it is an issue that there is little info on.  That's ok as it lends to the mystic of mopar, if you will!  There is value in mystery, especially in mopars as they command the high road of car hobbists in our fair land!  I saw that you had a 69 Charger with the same type identifying markers and it's great to know our two cars aren't from the standard fare.  I have a 69 Charger also that I bought 3 years ago, of course it needs total restoration.  It does have a 73 440 in it with the 727 trans.  I think the 69 Charger was the best looking car ever made, and I thought that before I became a mopar fan.  On a note regarding my 69 RR with the paint code of 99 99, I just found an article regarding that paint code in the September 08 issue of "MOPAR COLLECTOR'S GUIDE", and it sheds a bit more light on our questions.  It is specifically about a 69 RR, but it seems to me that your Charger falls into this catagory in some fashion that only an old mopar employee somewhere could answer for sure.  Where is that guy?   Thanks again for the response, and it is great to talk to another mopar fan who is active in the hobby.  I have to work every day for wages, and have to watch the pennies, but I stumbled on a stash of 12 old 69-70 mopars earlier this year hidden out in the country and was able to buy 6 of them.  They were stored outside, 6 on the bottom and 6 stacked on the top of the bottom 6.  I had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for the cash, as I knew this was too good to pass up.  The six I bought were a 69 RR, 70 RR, 70 Challenger R/T BB/4-speed, 69 Coronet BB, 70 Coronet, and a 70 Satellite. The other 6 had crushed tops but 2 of them were also RR's, and if I can come up with some more cash I will buy them as well.  I had been looking for an E-body for about 6 years but there was nothing to be had, so this unexpected find was something of a miracle.  I still have to walk down to the stash of cars (now on my place) to make sure all this wasn't just a dream.  I haven't told many around here as there are those who would be out stealing parts, if not whole cars, while I am at the workplace.  Anyway, so much for drivel, thanks again for your interest and comments.  Good luck, and have fun with your Charger!   Chris Taylor
