I had an MPP orange box blow on me in my 1955 331 Chrysler Hemi powered 36 Chev coupe.  I used the electronic ignition system consisting of the orange box, the Blaster 2 coil and a .25 ohm ballast resister.  Last year I put 2000 miles on the car without a problem.  This year I changed the ballast resister to a 1 ohm resister and after about 70 miles the orange box went.  I changed the box to a chrome box and still used the 1 ohm resister.  The engine quit on me but it started right back up.  I guess I should use the .25 ohm resister.  Any thoughts, guys.

The resister is specific to the coil not the box[if its wired right].
Check for bad grounds, BTW the mopar boxes are made in mexican't and have a tendency to burn out. And the chrome is the better of the 2.

Stick to your blow-ties fellas, especially if u think 6500+ is high rpm for chrysler.
Orange box is a piece of *** compared to the chrome box if u rev past 6000rpm dwell??
And MSD pisses on all.
What have u never run chrome box on the street?
How about the constant output reg on the street?
Or do you just follow directions and parts catalogs?
TRY THINKING SO YOU ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT.
''CHROMES USED FOR HIGH PERF/RPM'', SO ''CHROME'' MAKES U GO FAST HUH? FUKTARD
BTW- NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU USED TO BE.
YOU PARTS COUNTER GUYS WERE NOTORIOUS FOR SCREWING UP MY ORDERS .
YOU DON'T KNOW A VALVE STEM FROM YOUR ***

uhoh, someone needs a binky and a time out, heh, dwell on this meat head,I run more electronics with my car than you could understand, heck I dont understand some of them ,yeah yeah, all msd, dedenbear command center 600 bux alone, transbrake, linelock, adjustable in the car timing, rev limiter ,all that good chit, but ya know, the orange box on the street, which this thread application appears to be is quite adequate. so, ya run 4.56 or 4.88 gears for the benefit of the chrome box on the street? sure its a good upgrade for a dual purpose car but lets say its full race .would you use the chrome box or the constant voltage regulator blue unit? personally I always liked the M.P. setup, cheap and easy, ps. meathead ,no never run the constant voltage regulator on any street driven car.be nice .....

look ,idiot last reply to you and then ill let you take over my postings and only answer to buccaneer and 69 coronet from here out.the constant output voltage regulator to 1969 was single field alt.meaning you have to run the constant voltage regulator as the alternator didnt have a built in voltage regulator, guess what? the single field alternator used only 2 leads, a field and a battery. meaning? the 69 ignition didnt have the built in voltage regulator requiring the constant voltage regulator, ill mention that twice since you have a thick skull.heh,if your using a 70 and up distributor kit you would not need this constant voltage regulator unless its a race car and would just use a 3 lead alternator with built in regulator. question is why run a constant voltage regulator if your running a newer 3 wire alternator with built in regulator while also running the constant voltage regulater? ponder that.never saw a M.P electronic distributor for the pre 69s, have you? maybe your too dumb to rewire the 69 and older to the new style.or too dumb to realize you dont need to run 2 regulators? later, also, long as the trans mount is rubber, no worries, now get lost with your lil pos whoopie doooo ride .

U d bag, nun of the yrs alternators u mention ever had a internal regulator, fuktard
It's called one reg is mech one is transistor do you know what transistor means?
So chrysler put internal regulators in their  replacement 1 & 2 field alternators?
If you helped thats great but it was by pure ACCIDENT.
Hemicoupe, either you left out info or your lost more than ever, more power to ya.
Dude face it, your a chevy queer talkin bout internal reg, head bolts through water passages in a BB. Do us a favor KICK ROCKS BLOTIE AND TAKE YER MEDS ALREADY!
I DON'T CARE WHAT YOUR EXCUSE IS,
I DON'T FEEL SORRY FOR THE TARD THAT HAS LIFE HAPPENING TO HIM.
