Ballast resister?

If u run a jumper wire from the battery+ to the + of the coil & it starts, then ballast resister.
Otherwise electronic or points ?which do you have? could be grounding of box, or box it self, if electronic.
age is no lock on brillance

electronic, how do i check ground on ecu unit? i know the silver button on the front of the ecu acts as a ground when i use a test light. otherwise run a hot wire to the pos side of the coil and try it?,ballast is new with the electronic ign , but might be wired wrong.

Use a test light on one of the attaching bolts for the ecu, 9 times out of 10 when I've had this problem it's either a bad ecu or poorly grounded ecu.
