I'm doing some interior work to my 73 barracuda,and under the carpet found a large coiled spring with a leg straight out at each end and hooked.the spring has about 3 turns.It looks like it hooked into the auto slapstick mechanism that goes down through the floor?unless there are other parts missing here ,I can"t figure out where this went,any help out there would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks
