Hi all, I was a Ford Mustang man. Now I am looking to build a hemi clone for a retirement project. Need more power as I get older. I will start looking for a candidate in a year. Doing homework now. My question is: are large block (383-426) and small block e bodies the same. One guy told me that the rear quarters are larger on the big block cars. Also wouldn't the frame be beefed up on the big block cars? Thx, Walt

Walt, The rear quarters on big and small-block ars are the same. Depending on the engine package, certain big block cars could have come with torque boxes welded on the frame rails, but that's about it. The K-frames will be different, and some E-Bodies had different size/style front fender wheel openings, denoting the use of 15-inch wheels.

to my knowledge they are 3 different k-frames...6 cly, v8, and hemi...but with the swap-mounts from SCHUMACHER for the hemi a v8 k-frame will work.
