Well not much info ,but if ur springs are shot and wanna get more hook SS springs will help greatly along with mt/et or BF drag radials. If u use these springs make sure u correct your pinion angle they tend to stink bug the car and point the pinion to the moon, also get longer shocks in the rear so you dont bind & wheel hop . In case u dont know its normal for the car to sit kinda lopsided in the front do to increased ark on pass side rear, yes their specific R/L springs. The car when it comes to handling will be ok,as in stiffer then *** and push in right turns. If u have alot of $ & time to tinker then Caltracks might be a better move .

For a stock ride, go with the 440 HD springs.
SS springs are shorter, a-body length, so if you want to put them in a B-body you'll need the special brackets for the front spring mounts. SS springs definately work, our B-3 project car has gone 10.19 in the quarter with a 1.42 60 ft. time on SS springs.
For a stock style rebuild, try Just Suspensions replacement springs. They can build them to any rate you'd like, and they bolt right in without needing the extra brackets.

Hey Badfish, I have been lurking trying to get some tips. I am in the same boat, tired old springs on a 69 Coronet. I checked on J**** S**********'s website and it looks like they want about twice as much money for their springs as a pair of Super Stocker springs from J**S. What would you suggest? Why do they list the springs as replacements for B Bodies if they are shorter than what is needed? I did notice one supplier stated that longer front hangers were required.

ALRIGHT ANGRYBEE, IM DONE WITH THE LEAF SPRINGS. AND HERES HOW IT WENT. I BOUGHT THE MOPAR PERFORMANCE SUPERSTOCK SPRINGS, THE FRONT HANGERS AND NEW REAR SHACKLES. I PULLED THE OLD SPRINGS AND INSTALLED THE NEW ONES. I WENT AHEAD WITH THE 3 DEG SHIMS RIGHT OFF. I STARTED ON THE PASSENGER AND THE U-BOLTS WERE ALMOST TOO SHORT. I THEN ORDRED THE LONGER MP U-BOLT KIT. WORKED FINE ON THE RIGHT SIDE BUT THEY WERE TOO LONG ON THE LEFT SIDE. THE LEFT SIDE HAS TWO FEWER LEAFS SO I CLEANED UP AND REUSED THE OLD ONES. YOU WILL ALSO NEED LONGER SHOCKS. WITH THE NEW SPRINGS ON AT FULL EXTENSION THE OLD SHOCKS ONLY HAVE 1" OF TRAVEL. ONCE FINISHED I CHECKED THE PINION ANGLE AND IT WAS @4.5 DEG. I GUESS THIS ACCEPTABLE SEEING AS IVE READ 4-8 IS IDEAL. NOW PROS AND CONS. TRACTION IS GREATLY IMPROVED OVER MY WORN OUT SPRINGS. YES IT DOES PUSH A LITTLE GOING AROUND CORNERS. REALLY NOTICEABLE WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY 50-60 GOING AROUND A CURVE IT DOES TRY TO PUSH. BUT NOT UNBEARABLE. THEY RAISED THE BACK OF MY CAR 2-3". OVERALL IM HAPPY BUT YOUR CHOICE WILL NEED TO BE DETERMINED BY YOUR DRIVING PATTERNS. IM SLOWLY TURNING MY CAR INTO MORE OF A STREET /STRIP AND THEY WILL BLEND VERY WELL INTO THE BIG PICTURE.

I went on my first exteneded ride today. once you drive it a while you get used to it. i have a question about my pinion angle. i checked it and it is right at 4.5 deg. my problem is that before the springs i had a slight whine from the rearend. now that ive done this work it is worse. i didnt do the rear or for that fact have it done so i have no idea if it was set up right. it mellows out under acceleration and when you take your foot off the gas but when your cruising at a steady speed it is worse. what am i looking at here? hanks for the help

Sounds like you might have a little to much back lash in the pinion gear. Try increasing the angle 1 or 2 degrees and if it doesn't get better you're gonna need to readjust the pinion back lash. It's not hard to do, just time consuming. Also check your universals for free play and give them a good greasing. Since you have changed your pinion angle already some or all the noise could be coming from a worn universal joint. I had the same problem on my 4 wheel drive when I changed the leaf springs in it. With a different pinion angle you're putting a different load on the joints and if they're already worn the problem will get worse in a hurry.

i had a new drive shaft made and new u joints installed about 2000 miles ago. so i dont think they should be bad. as far as the pinion angle i bought the kit it has 3-2-1 degree shims. i have the 3 installed, by adding the 2 should put me at 6.5 deg pininon angle. do you think its alright to weld the shims together? i was thinking of welding the 2 and 3 together then reinstalling?

Actually for daily driving you want 2* nose down. For strip/drag/wot you want 4* or so nose down. The rear rolls back upon acceleration and then mostly returns to it's normal set degree @ cruise.

I run ss springs and used an adjustable rod welded to frame after beefing it up and the other end was welded to the pinion snubber minus the rubber bushing, works great, mp suggests 3 to 7 degrees max on the ss springs I run mine at 5 degrees and they plant like a mexican landscaper. ladder bar 2 degrees down 4 link 1 degree
