This is really an open-ended question left to opinion. It all depends on how much noise you like, or whether you want any noise in the car. are you looking for the free-est flowing mufflers? they'll be louder. I have tti's turbo mufflers on one car, and Flowmasters on another. They are closely comparible with performance, but the Flowmaster is a little louder--I like 'em both for different reasons.

Some people are like Slinkys; they're not very useful, but fun to watch when pushed down the stairs.

As Randy said, this is kind of a personal choice.
I've always liked the sound of 3 or 4 chamber Flowmasters, and generally run them on my car. They give a nice rumble at idle, but could be considered loud when the engine is opened up.

Flowmasters, they make a bunch of different type. I put them on my newer 2006 street car thats not a hot rod, and picked up 2.4 MPG. They have a nice tone also.

Not sure what "meduim" sound is? One consideration will be how much room you have for the mufflers. The larger case mufflers will usually be quieter than the smaller case mufflers (of the same design.)
