I have just got done rebuilding my first engine and I am trying to prime it before I try to fire it. My problem is that the pump builds pressure and the oil starts to come out around the oil filter seal. I am using a pf13 because of the low clearence it gives me for the headers.I dont see any oil comming to the top of the engine yet because the pressure gets to great for the filter and leaks. Can anyone tell me if I had forgot to do something or anything I can do to fix this. Thanks!

On the small-block Mopar there should be a gasket under the filter adapter, make sure that gasket is installed and the filter plate is tight. Then, make sure the rubber seal is in the filter and that there's not an old seal stuck where the filter goes.

Also, while priming the engine make sure to rotate it as the top end is only oiled when the cam lines up with two holes in the cam bearing, so only briefly during rotation.

Hope this helps.
