That I won't buy ANY DC product ever again! I've been brand-loyal for 29 years, but this is the final straw.

I agree, I about croaked when I saw it the first time. No I don't want a "sport fury" with a Dodge Ram Truck grill, I want a "real" Charger. DC has lost their minds and marketing savvy! Mike

i also agree with the new design of the new charger, its practically a descrace to the name charger, its still a mopar but its definatly at the bottom end of the food chain on my list. someone needs to go back to the drawing board

Its to late to use the eraser on the drawing board Just dont buy one that is the only way to spank their sorry design teams rear. Dont buy, dont show intrest in the taxi cab lokin thang. That should be easy until the DUB city clowns go puttin those hipnotic wheels on them makin every one look and then they think they are cool and people start buying the dang things.

I agree 100%. The so called charger, which is nothing but an over glorified chrystler c300 is a disgrace to the history of the charger. The charger since 1968 (sorry 66-67 fans) always had not only the balls to make any mustang coupe owner quake in its presence but also had the look that said get the *** out of my way or Ill swallow you with my grille, and spit your sorry ass out my tail pipe. These dumb asses at dodge are crying and screaming about how poorly the company is doing, but they dont see the stupid F ups their design team comes up with. Do you remember the 80's version. I am still trying to figure that one out. At least they got it right with the 2009 challenger. It actualy looks pretty accurate to the 71's lines. My question to you all is, wouldnt it make more sence to come up with a concept charger that looked like the 69 for the 2009 season and save the challenger for 2011? That would make both cars a 40th anniversary edition. I guess that would make to much sense to the dumb asses at dodges head quarters. I know some of them would say the gas prices would have an extreme inpact to the buyer, but I say that I dont even give it a second thought when I am leaving some rice burner piece of crap in my rear view mirror, in my original 69 charger General Lee. Thanks for letting me rant.

Without sounding to negative I totally agree that this version of Charger sucks. What happened to the concept car the design team made about 7 years ago for the Detroit auto show based on the intrepid platform, it was a 4 door but at least had the coke bottle styling of the 68-70 charger. I wont be looking at box of a car as my next ride. I would like to think I would buy the 09 Challenger but really who but your neighborhood millionare or lottery winner can afford to buy this car.

909Hemi: That I won't buy ANY DC product ever again! I've been brand-loyal for 29 years, but this is the final straw.
We have a new 2007 Charger R/T (R/T) Road and Track Option, same 350HP and Suspension as Daytona, high output engine computer and performance exhaust. No dash tag. Black honey comb grill insert, R/T badge front and rear, chin spoiler, rear deck spoiler, seats same as Daytona 8 way elec as well except R/T in seat back not Daytona, seats heated, trip computer, auto lights, many other options, 20" wheels, sunroof, electronic group, adjustable pedals. This car is loaded, $30,200, New, 52 miles on it. Life time warrenty. I grew up driving A Body Mopars, then B body, Have had 3 new dodge 4x4 trucks in my life. Latest truck 2006 Hemi 4x4 SLT loaded with trailer tow group, black with metal chrome bumpers, sweet. 3.92 posi. 20" wheels as well. Cold air intake and Gibson cat back duels. My point I guess is I love our Charger. Im 6'2". Not to many cars I fit well in. The Charger is roomy. 4 wheel independant suspension, ride height controll rear, stability controll, traction controll with off switch, sweet. I have grand kids and yes we like the 4 doors. I also like to make my wife beg for mercy, lol. The styling in my eyes is well thought out. At 130 mph no air noise, steady, sure footed performance. Huge trunk, and yea I damn sure injoy blowing most anything on the road away, most of all the CRAP. This car if you look at stats from factory then and now will out run a 1970 440 6 pack from 0 to 60. We get 24.5 at 70 mph on highway with air on and sirrus radio, flat road, Florida. Do that in the 70 440. Please dont get me wrong I will always love MOPAR MUSCLE. 1969 was then, this is now. Do I want a SRT8 Challenger, you bet. Im scratching my head right now trying to figure out how. I have 2 Harleys and a Boat Im considering selling right now. I believe all things considered Dodge made the Charger appeal to a much broader group with the 4 doors, full size and selection of mild to wild. V6 to SRT8. Including police departments. They will become main stay of Charger. The V6 Charger Police version out runs the Ford Police V8. LOL. The Challenger will also become availible to mass market once they get the hard core SRT8 boys satisfied with the 40,000 plus price and limited run and dash plaque. I have some more info for ya too, stock 350HP 5.7 is about 5.8 sec 0 to 60. SRT8 5.2 or so. People on a budget that drive their Chargers like my wife like the mileage and MDS system. She is getting 22 mpg to and from work. No I cant do that. Im 6'2" with big foot and loud pipes. In todays market if Dodge HEMI is going to appeal to enough Americans to buy enough to sustain the production, Ill settle for 5.8sec 0 to 60 and 24.5 mpg on highway and 4 doors. Remember when they came out with front drive 2.2 liter turbo charger, that was a damn disgrace to Chargers legacy. To the guy that started this tread, Ive been Mopar since, well, my first car was a 1964 Dodge DART ok, we will miss you. My Baby was a 1966 Baracuda 273 V8 solid lifter, 4 bbrl, 4 spd, replaced motor with 71 340 after years of making 289 Mustangs run and hide the 273 started smoking pretty bad. Wished I had been smart enough to keep that car, then a 1968 383 Sport Fury, fast barge if you could keep tires on it. This new charger can compete with Mercedes and BMW as well as the Cars. Long live MOPAR HEMI. Good job Dodge Boys. JP.

Anyone who does not like the new Chargers needs to take a better look and test drive one. They will be in for a real surprize! I am a MOPAR guy from way back. I thought the 4 drs was awful at first, too, but it's real practicle. I am 58 and still have a lead foot and really enjoy my 07 RT w/K&N CAI. (370 h.p. est) This car is hot. It handles way better than the old models and it'll out run an 440 hands down... smoke most of today's Mustangs too... I get a lot of comments on the looks as well. I also have a 01 Ram Truck and just finished building a 72 Dart Swinger, alias "THE STINGER" (can be seen in the MOPAR MUSCLE reader's cars!) I would love to get my hands on the new CHALLENGER, but, oh well, you know how it goes.....

my neighbor has the daytona, in sublime green. and i gotta say it sounds damn nice taking off with stock exhaust on that stock 5.7(350ci) HEMI. i would love to have one but would prefer a superbird, even if it gets 7 mpg.
1972 plymouth satellite.
summer 08 project.

I just cant see hotrodin a 4-door.Maybee a crew cab diesel or a qaud cab.Ive got a 98.5 ram thats pushing close to 500 horse has 38" baja claws 3:54 gears and gets 22 miles 2 de gal.I love it but I refuse to be seen, in a 4-door charger. With the price tag of a new charger, I could bye a 90s' viper or hell even a prowler.Ya Ive got kids too,it just goes aganst the grain, in my personal opinion.I really think its time for Chrysler to actully listen to the enthusiasts. The American ones though this time
