Ok, I've called on just about everyone under the sun. Now I'm turning to you readers, for help. Ok here is my situation. I have a 99' Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 4X4 It had a stock 5.2L. Now it has a brand new Jasper 5.9L 360 in it. Now I need to do something about the computer. The one thats in it I'm told will not read the 5.9L Engine. Any sugestions on how to either upgrade the computer or replace it or what the *** to do. Thanks Yall

So did u use all the sensors and so on from the 5.2. if so it should read them the same but i suppose to get the max performance from the 5.9 u might need a programmer i may have a lean condition, but it is very possible the computer will compensate , i will see if i can do some checking just kinda need more info on what u have done

Tim- Was the 5.9 a straight swap? Was there any modifying or accessories from the 5.2 that didn't bolt right up? I'm looking to do the same with my 99 durango2x4. If the 5.2 computer can be used with the sensors transfered to the 5.9 that should save some headaches in the computer swaping dept. Adding an aftermarket performance chip should take care of any lean condition, but that's just my opinion.
